Arizona State University was proud to host the Spring PPCA Conference.
The last time they hosted was in the spring of 1997.
More than ninety representatives from twenty-one member institutions
attended, including Boise State University, California Institute
of Technology, Colorado State University, Fresno Pacific University,
Los Rios Community College, New Mexico State University, University
of Nevada Reno, University of Arizona, University of California
San Diego/Medical Center/Santa Cruz, University of New Mexico, University
of Wyoming, University of Southern California and Utah State University.
The attendees learned something new, shared something valuable,
and made some new friends. This was a chance for people to get away
from their daily routines, recharge their batteries and visit our
campus. The trades people they met at this conference are the ones
they can call or e-mail later when they need help or advice.
For ASU, they received a great benefit from hosting the conference;
pride in their organization, a sense of shared accomplishment, an
excellent team exercise, a positive spirit, and their shops have
never been cleaner!
For the board members and officers, it was a chance to do something
that was fun and rewarding. They got to meet and share ideas with
new people, make positive differences in others' lives, and improve
their personal and professional development.
And for those who became new officers in the organization, this
is an exciting time for PPCA. Bonnie Crippen (SLCC) became our new
president and Paul Herrera (NMSU) is now our new vice president/president
elect.
Four new board members were appointed:
Allan
Crouch, ASU - 480-965-1827
Jesse Silva
(UCSD Medical Center) - 619-543-2915
Mark Gunnerson
(UWYO) - 307-766-5106
Mike
Langlois (USC) - 213-740-1651
We look forward to their good ideas and skills.
This organization is becoming a sounding board for changing technologies,
privatization, safety, training and professional development. PPCA
is becoming an organization with a voice.
Come see us in Nebraska in July!
