An invitation to attend the
PHYSICAL PLANT CRAFTS ASSOCIATION MEETING
at the
Laramie, Wyoming
August 3 & 4, 2000
The University of Wyoming (UW) is proud to be hosting our 4th Physical Plant Crafts Association of Colleges and Universities (PPCA) meeting. We cordially invite all interested trades’ people along with supervisors and superintendents. Put the August dates on your calendar and make plans to attend.
The PPCA was founded in 1987 and has been meeting on a regular basis since May 1988. These meeting provide an opportunity for people in the facility service areas of educational institutions to get together and share information and ideas among themselves. People attending a meeting have the chance to be educated through the excellent programs offered by the hosting institutions as well as gain the perspective of their counterparts from different schools.
The UW Physical Plant is offering three excellent presentations on Thursday, August 3rd. In addition to the presentations we will be having a general tour of our shops and specialized tours highlighting the campus electrical and plumbing systems. The electrical tour will be focused on our distribution system and include some problems to watch for when enhancing a system. Our plumbing tour will highlight a new solution to the old problem of air and dirt in our hot water circulation systems.
On Friday, August 4th we will be having a special presentation on connectivity put on by Johnson Controls Incorporated (JCI) for all interested parties. At the same time there will also be vendors displaying their products including JCI displaying their new graphical interface controls.
Laramie is beautiful in August, located between the Snowy Range and Laramie mountain ranges at an altitude of 7200 feet the days are pleasant and the evenings are cool. There are numerous outdoor activities only a short distance from town including fishing, hiking, climbing and mountain biking. The city and university feature many museums and historical sites as well as unique shopping and dining experiences.
Plan to attend and enjoy the campus, city, people and this special part of the country.
